Potential Funding Amount:  $200,000  (up to 3 projects to be awarded in PA)

Project Period:  24-month projects with a start date of July, 1, 2012 and an end date of June 30, 2014.

Matching requirements: NO

The Pennsylvania Commission on Crime and Delinquency (PCCD) and the Department of Public Welfare, Office of Mental Health and Substance Abuse Services (DPW/OMHSAS) are now accepting applications for funding under the Mental Health and Justice Advisory Committee for the development of permanent supportive housing for justice involved individuals. Federal funds will be used to support the Mental Health and Justice Housing Initiative programs.

The goal of the Mental Health and Justice Advisory Committees Housing Initiative is to increase re-entry opportunities for state and county correctional inmates who have serious mental illness. Specifically, the goal is to increase housing opportunities through the development of Permanent Supportive Housing for individuals who are justice involved.

The applicants may apply for funding to be used for Master Leasing and/or Housing Support Services.

This funding announcement is being issued on a competitive basis and is open to any county or non-profit organization within Pennsylvania that is able to meet all the necessary requirements described within the “Project Goals” and “Project Objectives” sections, and who can demonstrate in their application that they have the capacity, experience and reputation to successfully implement this initiative. Applicants must have actual experience working with supportive housing in Pennsylvania. Applicants are encouraged to demonstrate relationships with county CJABs and the participation of consumers in the development of their responses.
