Want to help, but you aren't sure where to start? Want to speak out, but don't want to waste your time shouting into the crowd? We can help.

When there is an imminent threat to the variety and supply of affordable homes on the market--such as a cut in a critical program--or a timely opportunity for advancement--such as proposed new legislation--the Housing Alliance will let you know, via an Action Alert. We will identify the required action, (whether it's a letter, fax, phone call or email) and coordinate the responses to achieve the greatest impact.

Action Alerts deliver a specific, actionable request, from a broad-based constituency, directly to policy makers, exactly when they need to hear it.

Alerts are time-sensitive. Check this site regularly for the most recent alerts or--better yet--click at the top of this web page to register with us, and you'll receive alerts automatically via email.

Please help weigh in on FHLBank's support for affordable housing. view

URGENT: Sponsors Needed for LIHTC Extension Bill - Save Jobs, Create Homes A new bill to extend and improve the LIHTC exchange program has just been introduced in Congress. The legislation is designed to be included in the JOBS bill already moving through the Senate. However, this will only happen if we can obtain enough co-sponsors to impress the leadership, and there is a very limited amount of time to do this. We need to reach out to every member of the PA Congressional Delegation THIS WEEK and ask them to sign on as a CO-SPONSOR OF H.R. 4687 (Sanchez). view
Federal HEMAP Funding - What About PA? President Obama announced on Friday a federal mortgage foreclosure program modeled on PA’s successful HEMAP (Homeowners Emergency Mortgage Assistance Program). As you know, many of us have been working to get the federal government to recognize HEMAP and bridge loans as an effective tool for some foreclosure situations. The federal initiative (described in the link below) is a good first step, especially as it recognizes housing finance agencies as an effective delivery mechanism. view
